‘Kyle XY’ Star Matt Dallas Heads to ‘Eastwick’

While ABC can’t bring Kyle XY back from the dead, fans can still catch Matt Dallas as he lands yet another show on the network. According to Eonline.com, the 26-year-old actor has been cast as a “hot, young love interest for Rebecca Romijn on Eastwick.”
A TV adaptation of the 1987 movie entitled The Witches of Eastwick starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Susan Sarandon, and Cher, Eastwick is a drama series set to air on ABC this fall. Aside from Romijin, Lindsay Price and Jaime Ray Newman will take the center stage as women whose lives are about to change when a mysterious stranger arrives in town and bestows unique powers in them. Also featured on the show is Paul Gross (Daryl Van Horne), a potential love interest for one or all of the ladies.
Since ABC canceled Kyle XY, Matt Dallas has been busy filming the movie As Good as Dead, a horror thriller about a left-wing extremist who goes on the run after killing the reverend behind a white supremacist group. The movie, which stars Andie MacDowell and Carly Elwes, is expected to hit theaters later this year.

Entourage, Cybill Shepherd has also signed on to join the cast of Eastwick. She’ll recurrently appear as a former witch who has become a reclusive cat lady. Fans remember Shepherd as Jacy in The Last Picture Show, Maddie Hayes in Moonlighting, Cybill Sheridan in Cybill, and as Betsy in Taxi Driver. Most recently, she also appeared on Psych, Criminal Minds and The L Word where she played Phyllis Kroll.
Eastwick will premiere on September 23 at 10pm ET, following the results show for Dancing with the Stars.

The show revolves around a boy named Kyle (Matt Dallas), who awakens in a forest outside Seattle, Washington, suffering from amnesia. The series follows Kyle as he tries to understand the mysteries of who he is and why he has no memory of being a child. He is sometimes shown with his shirt partially removed, revealing that he lacks a navel.
The show premiered June 26, 2006, on the ABC Family network. Episodes were also broadcast on ABC the first season, but only for part of the second season, after which it could only be seen on ABC Family. After a 10-episode debut season on ABC Family during Summer 2006, news reported a total of 23 new episodes were ordered for the second season, which started on June 11, 2007, with rebroadcasts on ABC beginning on June 15, 2007.[1] The second season’s 13th episode, “Leap of Faith”, aired on Monday, September 3, 2007; the remaining 10 began airing on January 12, 2008. The German version was aired December 8, 2007. The show started its second season in the UK on Monday, September 3, 2007, and on April 5, the first season was broadcast in France on M6. On October 5, 2007, TV Guide reported that ABC family has renewed Kyle XY for a third season of 10 episodes, which began airing on January 12, 2009.
On January 31, 2009, ABC Family announced that Kyle XY would not return for a fourth season. The series finale of the show aired on Monday, March 16, 2009, at 9/8c on ABC Family. Following the last episode, writer Julie Plec revealed what had been planned for further seasons.

4th Season for Kyle XY…?
By · CommentsHey guys! So the bad news has been officially confirmed. Yes friends, recently ABC network confirmed the cancellation of our favorite Kyle XY tv show. I am really disappointed and wondering what nut heads out there take decisions of this kind which really upsets millions of viewers. Well I have been with Kyle XY since its journey started in 2006. I have never missed even a single episode of the show that chronicles the life of a young man with superpowers but without any memory and belly button. I have liked every actor who performs on this wonderful science fiction show and I am specifically mad about Matt Dallas who plays the role of Kyle. I simply love his charm and his innocence and the way he gives life to the character of Kyle through his talent, is outstanding. I have also loved April Matson whom we see as Lori Trager, the sixteen year old quick witted and intelligent foster sister of Kyle, on the show. In fact the entire team of Kyle XY is worth a mention, as they all have done a really great job and deserves to be appreciated for the same.
It is such a shame that this fascinating show is not going to continue entertaining us just because it has not been getting good rating for the past few episodes. Yes, I do accept that Kyle XY has not been having good rating but that can always be taken care of by other means. All episodes
of Kyle XY has always had a unique mysterious air to it which leaves the audience wondering at the end of every episode as to what would happen next. Even through the broad concept of the script might seem somewhat familiar but the story is exciting and the fans are always hungry for more. The thought that after the current season, that happens to be Season 3 of the series, there will no more Friday nights with Kyle XY, has really depressed me and I am sure that all of you who love this show have been affected in a similar manner. I sure ABC network is going to repent the decision of canceling one of their best shows, but perhaps by then it will be too late.

Kyle XY TV Show Summary

Season 1: Kyle realizes he has abilities that no normal human shares. With the help of the Trager family and his new friends, Kyle tries to find out who he is, where he came from, and why he woke up in the middle of the forest with no knowledge of the world.
Season 2: After discovering his origins, Kyle learns that he has a counterpart. Her name is Jessi, and together they try to harness their abilities and find out more about the mysteries surrounding their creation, and all the while balancing their school and family lives.
Kyle XY is produced by Touchstone Television and filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Broadcast History: Season one aired Mondays on ABC Family in the 8:00 pm timeslot, it was repurposed to ABC the following Friday in the 9:00 pm slot.
The first four episodes of season two followed the same pattern, but ABC discontinued the repurposing after “Balancing Act”, leaving it airing only on ABC Family Mondays at 8:00 pm.
Season three brought a timeslot change, with the episodes airing Mondays at 9:00 pm.
